NBA Finals Game Six Recap, Celtics & Lakers to Play in Game Seven for the 'Ship
by on June 16th, 2010 View Comments
Game Six was a debacle for the Boston Celtics. The Los Angeles Lakers outplayed them in every area of play, and were victorious by a score of 89-67. The win for the Lakers forces a Game Seven. A Game Seven between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers, two of the best franchises in all of the NBA; it doesn’t get much better than this. The game is sure to be exciting and one for the memory books, as long as the C’s decide to come and play (unlike in Game Six).
As far as Game Six goes, there is not much to say, other than that the Lakers played well, and the Celtics did not. The Lakers got more balanced scoring, especially from their bench, which scored 27 points. They also played much better defense, holding the Celtics to 67 points, while shooting 33 percent from the field, and getting only seven points from their bench. All eyes will be on the C’s enforcer Kendrick Perkins, to see if he will be able to bounce back from the injury he sustained early on in Game Six. The Celtics could really use him if they want to put up a better fight than they did last night. For the Lakers, all they need to do is play as well as they did Game Six at home. They will have home court advantage, with the thousands of fans on their side. They have yet to win two games in a row against the Celtics, however. It will definitely be a great game, and I’m as excited as ever to see who will pull out and win another World Championship.
Given the magnitude of this game, ticket prices listed on the secondary market have increased tremendously. Currently, the average listing price for Game Seven is $1566. But just as the MasterCard commercial says:
Tickets for the game: $1566
Dinner at the game: $40
A Lakers’ NBA Finals t-shirt: $30
The memories of attending with your friends and family a once-in-a-lifetime Game Seven featuring two of the best franchises in all of sports: priceless.
