Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens - Two of the Best Fantasy RBs Duel it Out in Real Life...Again

by DJ Premvaree on January 13th, 2012 No Comments

The Baltimore Ravens play host to the Houston Texans this Sunday at M&T Stadium. Houston is pushing along with their first ever playoff appearance and victory, hoping to double down on their success in Houston. Arian Foster broke out last week with 153 yards rushing and 2 TDs on the ground. However, during Week 6, the Ravens bottled up Foster to just 49 yards on 15 carries and 62 yards on six catches. Will the presence of Andre Johnson open things up for TJ Yates and free up some matchups for Foster to run quick checkdowns? You can see for yourself in person.

Date
Event
Sunday Jan 15 1:00 PM AFC Divisional Playoffs - Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens Texans at Ravens M&T Bank Stadium – Baltimore, MD tickets from $179

The Ravens and Texans met earlier this season during Week 6 in Baltimore. Ray Rice and Anquan Boldin both walked away with over 100 yards rushing and receiving, respectively, and the Ravens walked away with a 29-14 victory. The big difference this game is that the Texans will be without Matt Schaub but will have TJ Yates throwing to a healthy Andrew Johnson.

Ticket Price Information

Tickets peaked twice - once when the Ravens secured the #2 playoff birth on January 1st and a second time after the Texans won on January 7th and the AFC Divisional games were set. Since that time, tickets have started to trickle down in average price, but not because prices are falling. 33.56% of the tickets sold since January 9th have been in the 500 Level with an average price of $185.88.

With an average ticket price pf $324.49, the matchup between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens is the second most expensive matchup this weekend.

Must-Win NFL Games Week 17 - Ticket Price Comparison

by Mason on December 29th, 2010 No Comments

In the NFL, with only 16 games in the regular season, every game is important. However, as we roll in to the final week of the season, there are three absolute must-win games.  Rams-Seahawks, Titans-Colts, and Bears-Packers.  For all intents and purposes these teams each have a playoff game in week 17.  Since these game can almost be classified as a playoff game we thought it would be interesting to take a look a the ticket prices on the secondary market for each of these games to see if fans are willing to pay more for the week 17 must-win games than an average home game during the regular season.

St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks at Qwest Field on Sunday at 8:20PM - This game is basically the first round of the playoffs for these two teams.  The winner of this game will win the NFC West and advance to the playoffs and the loser will be watching the rest of the season from home.

The average ticket price to the Seahawks-Rams game this weekend is $93.30, just 79.5% of the cost for an average Seahawks home game this season.  With an average ticket price of $93.30 this game ranks as the 3rd least expensive Seahawks home game this season and the 12th most expensive game in the NFL this weekend.  It is a little surprising that ticket prices for the Rams-Seahawks game are not higher but then again this is the NFC West and you really can't be surprised about anything in the NFC West this season.

Average Ticket Price of Seahawks Home Games

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday at 4:15PM - This is a must win game for the Colts because if they lose and the Jaguars win against the Texans they will not advance to the post-season for the first time in 8 seasons.  The 5-10 Texans do not have much to play for since they are no longer in playoff contention and it is likely that the Jags will beat them on Sunday so it is absolutely vital for the Colts to beat the Titans this weekend.

The average ticket price to the Titans-Colts game this weekend is $142.94, just 83% of the cost for an average Colts home game this season.  With an average ticket price of $142.94 the Titans at Colts game ranks as the 3rd least expensive Colts home game this season and the 6th most expensive game in the NFL this weekend.  We were a little surprised to find that ticket prices for this extremely important game are not higher compared to the rest of the Colts home games.

Average Ticket Price of Colts Home Games

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday at 4:15PM - This is a must win game for the Packers because if they lose they need both the Giants to lose to the Redskins and the Buccaneers to lose to the Saints in order to clinch a wild card berth.

The average ticket price to the Bears-Packers game this weekend is $207.42, which is just $2 more expensive than a ticket to the average Packers home game this season.  With an average ticket price of $207.42 the Bear-Packers game ranks as the 3rd most expensive game at Lambeau Field this season and the most expensive game in the NFL this weekend.

Average Ticket Price of Packers Home Games

Are you surprised that the ticket prices for the Titans-Colts and the Rams-Seahawks games are relatively low considering the impact that each of these games has on the outcome of the entire season?  Let us know in the comments or on Twitter @SeatGeek.

NFC Playoff Picture: Rams and Seahawks Go Head to Head for NFC West

by Mason on December 28th, 2010 No Comments

NFCEntering week 17, the NFC playoff picture is starting to get a little more clear.  Seven NFC teams are out of playoff contention, four have clinched a playoff berth, and five are still in the hunt.  The Rams and the Seahawks will battle it out in week 17 to decide the NFC West division while the final NFC wild card spot will go to either the Packers, Giants or the Buccaneers.  We also have analysis of the AFC playoff picture.

NFC Teams that have clinched a playoff berth:

Chicago Bears - The Bears clinched the NFC North with their win against the Vikings last Monday night.

Chicago Bears Playoff Tickets

Philadelphia Eagles - The Eagles clinched the NFC East when the Giants lost to the Packers on Sunday.

Philadelphia Eagles Playoff Tickets

Atlanta Falcons - The Falcons have clinched a spot in the playoffs but have not locked up the NFC South.  The Falcons need one win or one Saints loss to clinch the NFC South division.

Atlanta Falcons Playoff Tickets

New Orleans Saints - The Saints have clinched a playoff berth and can still win the NFC South with a win in their last game and a Falcons loss.

New Orleans Saints Playoff Tickets

NFC Teams in the playoff hunt:

St. Louis Rams - The Rams will win the NFC West if they win against the Seahawks.

Seattle Seahawks - The Seahawks will win the NFC West if they win against the Rams.  If this happens, a 7-9 Seahawks will make the playoffs which will cause NFL analysts and fans to lose their minds over a sub .500 team making the playoffs while 10-6 teams are sitting on the sidelines.

New York Giants - The Giants will clinch a wild card spot with a win against the Redskins and a Bears win against the Packers.

Green Bay Packers - The Bears have already clinched the NFC North division so the Packers only chance at making the playoffs is by clinching a wild card spot.  Since the Packers beat the Giants this past weekend, they are in the playoffs with a win against the Bears.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers - The Buccaneers are out of the NFC South divisional race but still have a chance to win a wild card spot.  The Buccaneers need to win their final game and have both the Packers and the Giants lose.

NFC Teams eliminated from the playoffs:

  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Dallas Cowboys
  • Detroit Lions
  • Minnesota Vikings
  • Washington Redskins
  • San Francisco 49ers

What are your thoughts on the possibility of a 7-9 Seahawks making the playoffs?  Let us know in the comments or on Twitter @SeatGeek.

by Mason on December 28th, 2010 No Comments

AFCEntering week 17, the AFC playoff picture is starting to clear up.  Nine teams in the AFC are out of playoff contention and five teams have clinched a post-season berth.  The remaining spot will go to the winner of the AFC South, either the Indianapolis Colts or the Jacksonville Jaguars.  The Patriots have clinched the top spot in the AFC and will have home field advantage throughout.  We also have analysis of the NFC playoff picture.

AFC Teams that have clinched a playoff berth:

New England Patriots – The Patriots have clinched the AFC East division and the top seed in the playoffs.

New England Patriots Playoff Tickets

Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers have clinched a spot in the playoffs. If the Steelers and the Ravens finish the season with the same record the Steelers win the tie breaker based on the fact that the Steelers will have a better divisional record than the Ravens. The Steelers need a win or a Ravens loss to clinch the AFC North.

Pittsburgh Steelers Playoff Tickets

Baltimore Ravens – The Ravens have clinched a spot in the playoffs.  In order to win the AFC North, the Ravens need to win their last game and have the Steelers lose their last game.

Baltimore Ravens Playoff Tickets

New York Jets – Even with a loss last Sunday against the Chicago Bears the Jets still clinched a wild card spot in the playoffs.

New York Jets Playoff Tickets

Kansas City Chiefs - The Chiefs have clinched the AFC West division.

Kansas City Chiefs Playoff Tickets

AFC Teams in the playoff hunt:

Indianapolis Colts - The Colts will win the AFC South division with a win or a loss and a Jaguars loss.

Jacksonville Jaguars – The Jaguars still have a chance to win the AFC South with a win and a Colts loss.

AFC Teams eliminated from the playoffs:

  • Buffalo Bills
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Denver Broncos
  • Cleveland Browns
  • Houston Texans
  • Miami Dolphins
  • Tennessee Titans
  • Oakland Raiders
  • San Diego Chargers
